Yoda Quote

“Size matters not. Look at me. Judge me by my size, do you? Hmm? Hmm. And well you should not. For my ally is the Force, and a powerful ally it is. Life creates it, makes it grow. Its energy surrounds us and binds us. Luminous beings are we, not this crude matter. You must feel the Force around you; here, between you, me, the tree, the rock, everywhere, yes.

iPad 2 review - first impressions.

Speed
This gadget is clearly much faster than the original iPad. I noticed improvements on software like GarageBand.

Dual Cameras
I only managed to test them after dark and they struggle in low light. I will still lug around my SLR until the iCamera is released.

FaceTime
FaceTime works perfectly - I had a face-to-face chat with my brother in Australia, no lag and clear sound. I am yet to try FaceTime to iPhone or mac.

Weight & form factor
It is much lighter than it's predecessor but has fewer curves. At present I am not sure if the corners are uncomfortable or if I have muscle memory from iPad 1. I definitely do not think iPad2 is as comfortable to hold as 1.

New Apps
- Photobooth is a great app but I have never understood it's purpose. It definitely shows of the processing power of the GPU through effortlessly processing 9 images in realtime.
- FaceTime (reviewed above) awesome.

Ratings:
Power - 5 stars
Cost - 4 stars (£40 cheaper than it's predecessor)
Ease of use - 5 stars
Appearance - 3
Overall - 5 stars as a device, 4 stars as an upgrade from iPad 1.

I have never...

1. Watched ET: The Extraterrestrial, The Brady Bunch, Field of Dreams or Rocky.
2. Eaten Kobi beef, truffles or Shark.
3. Climbed Ben Nevis or Kilimanjaro.
4. Driven along California Route 1 (Highway 1)
5. Scuba dived
6. Watched a scary movie in a cinema.
7. Made fondue.
8. Sun Bathed for more than 10 minutes (in my adult life)
9. Spent a day without eating or a day without sleeping.
10. Grown a full beard.

Let's see how many of these I can do by the end of MMXI.
